Course Overview
The objective of this workshop will be to help our clients (and ourselves) commit to living a vital and meaningful life. Developed within a coherent theoretical and philosophical framework, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is an empirically based psychological intervention that uses acceptance and mindfulness strategies, together with commitment and behavior change strategies, to increase psychological flexibility.

This workshop will demonstrate some of the key skills used to bring about meaningful change in ACT and will gently invite participants to notice the value of enhanced perspective-taking, mindfulness, and values clarification in their own lives as well as those of our clients.

Jennifer Gregg, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist, an associate professor at San Jose State University, and a peer-reviewed Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) trainer recognized by the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science.  Dr. Gregg has been researching, delivering, and training therapists around the world in ACT since 1997, and has written more than two dozen empirical and scholarly papers related to ACT.  Her specialty is the application of ACT to medically ill populations and her clinical work these days is focused on individuals diagnosed with cancer.
