What Every Therapist Should Know About Nutrition
Saturday, January 8th @ 10:00 - 11:30 AM, 1.5CE
Fifty percent of Americans are actively trying to lose weight, and rates of eating disorders have doubled from 2000-2006 to 2013-2018, increasing more rapidly among LGBTQ+ and BIPOC populations. This means that many of your clients have weight concerns or may have an eating disorder. Have you ever wondered how to support these clients in a way that is evidence-based? What does the evidence say about diets like intermittent fasting and veganism? How can you quickly assess for an eating disorder? How do you know when it’s time to refer out to an eating disorder-specialized dietitian and therapist? Get these as well as any other nutrition-related questions answered in this presentation by Fiona Young, MS, RD, a Registered Dietitian in private practice treating patients with chronic health conditions and eating disorders.
