Welcome to the Santa Clara County Psychological Association Website

The Santa Clara Psychological Association (SCCPA) is a nonprofit professional organization dedicated to:

  • advancing the science and profession of psychology
  • promoting the ethical, responsible, and effective practice of psychology
  • providing education, fellowship, and support among psychologists
  • offering our culturally diverse public community a broad array of educational and mental health services

Founded in 1965, SCCPA today comprises more than 300 licensed psychologists, registered psychological assistants, graduate psychology students, and other professionals affiliated with the mental health field. We are the third largest of 23 chapters of the California Psychological Association (CPA), which is a state chapter of the American Psychological Association (APA).

Santa Clara County is located at the southern end of the San Francisco Bay Area. In the heart of Silicon Valley, it is home to Stanford University and the Stanford School of Medicine, Santa Clara University, Palo Alto University/Pacific Graduate School of Psychology, and San Jose State University. There are 15 cities in the County of Santa Clara, including: Campbell, Cupertino, Gilroy, Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Los Gatos, Milpitas, Monte Sereno, Morgan Hill, Mountain View, Palo Alto, San Jose, Santa Clara, Saratoga, and Sunnyvale.  The County's geography ranges from Palo Alto in the north to Gilroy in the south.
